Mary Moore Searight Park

Mary Moore Searight Metropolitan Park spans nearly 350 acres in South Austin off Slaughter Lane, making it one of the largest parks on the south side of the city. The 3 outdoor pickleball courts are free to use, though players need to bring their own nets — the courts are striped but don't have permanent net posts.

The park draws players from the surrounding Slaughter Lane and Manchaca Road corridor, including residents of Shady Hollow, Bauerle Ranch, and other South Austin neighborhoods. Because the park is large and the pickleball area is just one part of it, courts are generally less crowded than smaller neighborhood parks. It's a good option for groups who want space and a quieter environment.

Beyond pickleball, the park has extensive walking and biking trails, sports fields, restrooms, and picnic areas — making it well worth the trip for a longer outdoor morning. Parking is free and ample. Slaughter Lane can back up during rush hour, so plan accordingly if you're coming from I-35 or Mopac.
