Dick Nichols District Park

Dick Nichols District Park is a 152-acre green space in Southwest Austin off Beckett Road near William Cannon, offering 4 outdoor pickleball courts on well-maintained hard surfaces. The courts don't have permanent nets, so you'll need to bring your own — portable nets are easy to find online for around $60–100 and are worth the investment if you plan to play here regularly.

The Southwest Austin location serves players from Circle C, Sendera, Shady Hollow, and other neighborhoods in the 78749 area. Given the size of the park and the relative scarcity of free outdoor courts on this side of town, Dick Nichols has become a popular gathering spot for neighborhood pickleball groups. Bring friends and your own net and you'll likely have the courts to yourselves on weekday mornings.

The surrounding park has restrooms, walking and biking trails, picnic areas, and sports fields. Parking is free and spacious. The park's Southwest Austin location means less congestion than central Austin courts, and the larger footprint gives the overall experience a more relaxed feel.
