About Northwest Recreation Center
Northwest Recreation Center is a City of Austin facility on Northland Drive, serving players in the Northwest Hills and Balcones neighborhoods with 3 indoor pickleball courts. The courts are multi-purpose — they're striped for pickleball on a hardwood-style gym floor — but they're functional and covered, which matters when Austin temperatures push past 100 degrees in July and August.
Access is free with an Austin Parks & Recreation membership or day pass. The center draws a neighborhood crowd from the surrounding 78731 area, with open play sessions that tend toward casual and social rather than competitive.
